Great first 3 weeks of comp

It is terrific to see lots of new athletes competing in the first 3 weeks of competition at the Joe Carmody track in Newborough. It is especially fantastic to see many new faces that have come to us from the local Little Athletics. Your enthusiasm rubs off on other athletes and our Committee and Officials.

As part of the renewed enthusiasm, we are trialling 4-5 group training/coaching sessions at the track on Sundays at 3:00pm for all Gippsland Athletics Club members. Please speak with Heather Daldry or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Congratulations to Sophie Fontaine (GPA), Sharna Warry (SCA) and Georgia Pearson (WEL) for breaking Age Group records to begin the 2014/15 season! Notably, in Round 2 we had 3 competitors - Sophie Fontaine, Amanda Fontaine and Georgia Pearson who ALL went below the previous U/18 1500m record. No doubt the middle-distance records will be lowered many more times by this group. You can view the full list of All-comers meet Records at Gippsland Athletics competitions.
